As we head to Chavez's Top 40 list I am surprised that no comments on his choices. However, having said that can understand that it really is a meaningless list as we all likely have different opinions on who should be on the list and in what order.
My only comment on the list is his list of honorable mentions today. Love how he has honorable mentions for Grimes and Sorenson from the Stealth along with Moleski on the top 40. Great D ( not) for a group that allowed 204 goals against last season, tied for the 2nd worst in the league. He also expounds on the list of Mydske, Corbeil and Quinlan on the list, a group that had 175 goals against and have no problems. I guess Chavez has not much to say about the Roughnecks. Gee, best D in the league and not a single mention of guys like Manning, McBride, Harnett, Scott Carnegie that make that likely the best D in the league with a 12-4 record. Would love to comment on his lack of players out of East, but don't follow them quite as much. |

I think we've gotten used to this list, thus the lack of comments. I keep track of it, but really think about it after that.

I have no idea how Benesch is below Crawford or how Rubisch isn't top 5 (he's in my top 5 easy by anchoring and setting the tone for the league's nastiest defense last year). My ranking the Swarm players on the list alone... 1. Benesch 2. Suitor 3. Gilbert 4. Ross 5. MacIntosh 6. Crawford Chavez has them. 1. Crawford 2. Benesch 3. Suitor 4. MacIntosh 5. Ross 6. Gilbert Does the guy even watch the games? (I do understand that most people give more weight to offensive players...But I don't!)

How the hell did Dickson get #6? I would take anyone in the top 20 over him. Am I completely wrong with that statement?
And how did Powless, Wiles and Accursi all not make the list over Gilbert, Ross and Moleski?

It's a subjective list. No one's top 40 would be the same. However, I agree with his #1.

The thing that blows my mind about the list isn't who's on it or where.
But players 40-11 got individual articles. Then the 10 best players got a paragraph each. I don't think the presentation of the list could have been done much worse. It blows my mind.

He definetly wasnt my first choice but I think he was definetly in the conversation for ROTY. He could be one of the premier transition players in a few year. Could maybe be as good as suitor
