The Eagles origianlly said 80 people were coming, and then kept reducing it to 10. Those decisions are why it was cancelled. Trump was definitely wrong when he called anthem protestors SOBs.

Several writers and Derick Saunders of Comcast Philly have said they miss the days where there was some line between politics and sports. And that this is one ceremony where that line should separate.

I am not a Trump voter or fan. But I still respect the office. Players went when Bush 2 invited them. I hated Bill Clinton, and disagreed with Obama, but would have showed if invited by them, out of respect for the office. Like it or not, Trump is the POTUS, and THEIR POTUS.

A best case scenario would be a reboot with a group of players having a sit down issue discussion with Trump, and then have the photo op. Both sides should make this happen.

    My hot takes:
    • I don't like Trump, but I respect the president position. So if I was invited to meet the president, I'd go even if I don't necessarily like the person in that position.
    • I completely understand the message those who are kneeling for the anthem are trying to send, but I do wish they'd find another way to send their message. I think you should stand for an anthem.
    • I don't like Trump, but I don't think he's doing as bad of a job as the extremists say he is. Doesn't mean I think he's doing a good job by any stretch, I just mean I don't think he's as bad as the extremists make him out to be. That said, I can't wait until he's not president anymore.

I would not go to the White House as long as Trump and his criminals are there. All the stupid people who voted for him bought what the con man was selling with Russian help. This country was already great and it's now less so because of the damage he's done. And Mexico is not paying for a border wall no matter how many times he says they are. Lock him up!

Starting this week, my local newspaper is now 20% smaller thanks to the pointless tariffs he imposed on Canada. Many newspapers get their paper from Canada.

    Thanks, asshole!

Agreed. During his whole "Make America Great Again" campaign, I kept thinking 'I missed the part where it wasn't great anymore...' I honestly have a hard time even talking to people who voted for him.

I just hope he doesn't sue the next president for legitimately having to use that slogan!

Watch MSNBC a little too much?

The election was between a blow hard who speaks his mind too freely, and a lying criminal. Forget the third party guy I voted for, he only got media attention when he made.one stupid.comment.

Posts like the one above prove how good.the media.is.at mind control. Take the slightest question and.spin it into unmitigated truth. They will never speak of anything positive about Trump. The economy is doing better than it has in years, but you never hear that fact, just constant attempts.to spin a.web out of one small strip of string with the Russia trash.

I am not a.supporter,.but I will point out the constant lies and bias of the media

    I swear on Drew’s life
If trump takes an ounce of credit for the on going rejuvenation of Atlantic City with new casinos set to open and the impending legalization of sports betting I’ll snap

I don't watch MSNBC. I couldn't tell you the name of 1 person or 1 show there. I get my news and information from a variety of places but MSNBC isn't one of them.

And enough of this country ended up voting for the lying criminal who won - Trump.

Yup, and that makes him our POTUS, like it or not. The country duly elected him. The office still deserves our respect. If not, you really don't care about the Constituion.

He says he may be back once the Wings season starts. His back surgery went well enough that he is back to work, in a very physical job. He is doing well and as snarky as always!

Technically, they voted for the other candidate by over 3,000,000 votes.

He simply won the electoral college. Respect is earned, not given.

I do care about our Constitution and I respect the office of the President. I don't respect the man in it right now because he's done nothing to earn that respect as W4L has also pointed out. And yes, there is a difference, IMO.

I believe Trump would be criticized by some if he were to cure brain cancer. No credit will ever be given to him by some. At least recognize.that the economy is.doing well, and he has had an impact on it.
