Yes, from the NLL "As per the terms of the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, if a team loses an unrestricted free agent to another club, they may be eligible to receive compensatory draft pick(s) for the following season(s)." http://www.nll.com/news/national-lacrosse-league-announces-player-transaction-dates-ahead-of-2018-season/

The Bandits received a third round pick a couple years ago for Derek Suddons signing with NE. Calgary got firsts this year for Shattler signing with the Rush and Poulin with the Swarm. It is a league formula where a team can be awarded a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round pick for losing a player (who knows what it is).

    From swarmitup http://www.swarmitup.com/2018EDOrder.htm

07/03/2018 - [24] Per Brian Lemon via Stephen Stamp, Compensatory Pick for Jeff Shattler signing with the Saskatchewan Rush via free agency prior to the 2017-18 season.
