i always found it odd that an undrafted walkon became their most marketable player (I'd like to not believe it's his heritage )
But now I'll wait and see the back lash of the fan base as they endure the pain of losing their fan favorite

word was he was just thrown around on D in both games last weekend , this league gets faster every year, you gotta be able to keep

Hoards of players are being released, Andrew suitor got the axe in Rochester last night, I'd be shocked if bill got onto someone's practice roster this late in camps

Could see the Wings signing him over the summer though

I live about 10 minutes from the casino and can confirm that he was by far the most popular player. I meet people who have never even been to a game knew who know who he is.

Despite his reputation, he's definitely the most friendly, outgoing, and personable professional athlete I've ever met. He always went out of his way to stop and talk to a fan and take a few pics. He also went to tons of local lacrosse clinics on off days and the kids loved him. This is really going to hurt their local popularity more than I think they realize.

I hate New England sports fans... they're the worst fair weather fans in any sport. After trading away Kirk and now releasing O'Brien, they are going to lose a big chunk of the small but steadily growing local fanbase if they don't have a great year.

No matter how much the fans like you and the good you do in the community, the NLL is a results oriented league of what you can do on the floor. With 2 new teams coming in next year, he should land on 1 of them. Plus, guys get hurt in this league so he could land on someone else's roster due to injury this year.

I don't recall if this was in 2016 or 2017, but I remember watching him actually approach Hollywood42 at a bar after a game and actually apologizing for not recognizing him faster. I was blown away to say the least.

nbw backend gave up way too many 2nd and 3rd chances. they still miss white and ranagan. I guess they are hoping quicker is better.

concern that the offense lacks a player to do the dirty work, not sure who is going to take culp's spot. shocked seeing the return of mark cockerton. seth oakes looked unimpressive last winter. o'connor was the player that folks predicted when he graduated Georgetown. you can see that their adds to d/t - brock, bomberry, Lafontaine, Watkinson, Joaquin and an expected increased role for spanger is finding their next joel white. they cut guys like bill and Searle because imho they lacked the quickness to scoop 'n' go. big question is how long bold starts and when will they let jamieson try...could be really good or if things don't gel on the backend, not so.

That's a great letter to the fans by Bill O'Brien. It shows that he has a great head on his shoulders too, as he takes extreme ownership for his predicament as well as seeing adversity as a challenge, not a threat. If that's truly his attitude, I can see him working his way back into the NLL at some point.

they got the defense they hoped for in the 2nd half. the most athletic guys on the floor are the defenders and gone are the days when the pylons ruled the crease.
