The deli in our complex offered a free cup of coffee to everyone on Wed. Our HR director sent the following note, explaining how this falls into our ethics policy. i swear this is real, i only blocked the names:

On Wednesday December 20, 2006, Advance Realty Group ("ARG"), the
owner/property manager for the XXXX Plaza (Department XXXXX),
, is having an Appreciation Day for
all tenants in its four XXXX complex buildings. The appreciation is
a cup of coffee (small size) at Neal's Place. ARG is paying Neal's Place
for the small cup of coffee consumed by XXXX Plaza tenants on
Appreciation Day, and thus that cup of coffee is "free" for XXXX
    Plaza tenants.

A question has been asked as to whether it is permitted under XXXX
Ethics rules to accept the small cup of coffee. Under XXXX Ethics
rules, it is permissible to accept the small cup of coffee at Neal's on
Appreciation Day being provided to all tenants of the XXXX Plaza
campus by ARC. The small cup of coffee is unsolicited, is of trivial or
nominal value, and is being made available to all ARC's XXXX Plaza

All employees are encouraged to remember, when in doubt about an ethics
matter, ask. All employees are also encouraged to review the Plain
Language Guide to XXXX Ethics Standards [pdf
156k] and to take the Fall Ethics quiz which are both posted on the XXXX

LOL Swami24 - HR folks thrive on this crap, probably took a professional an hour to "weave a comprehensive event policy statement".

well, week one wasnt so bad. lol

quite boring actually, the training was simple, all i do is reset poasswords for employee access into their learning systems program, and help them navigate if their lost, anything above that i escalate to tier 2 tech support.

im only getting like 20 calls a day so its rather boring, but with them launching new courses thatr every employee in the company is going to have to do, it will pick up by mid february when it launches.

I'm hosting a breakfast meeting with over 70 business people in attendance - on the terribly exciting topic of Internet-based B2B Marketing, Prospect Mining and Lead Conversion. At least I clean up well and look good in a suit. :rotfl:
