Not really. But I feel like if this was the 1990s it very well coulda, woulda been a possibility.

Is this place even worth checking out?

it has been a bloody long time since I availed myself of a downtown Toronto "Gentlemen's Club", but, back in the day, The Brass Rail, just a few blocks North on Yonge, was a much preferable experience.

These places are actually vanishing quickly......I think Filmore's Hotel still operates, but, other Toronto+inner burbs notables such as Private Eyes, House of Lancaster, Cheaters, Fantasia, Bunny's have all vanished as well.

so I am out of the strip club game and the single man dating game......wondering if Tinder has changed the game enough that strip clubs are just a greasy waste of money because Tinder has moved "first base" to vanilla intercourse, and no one even has to find the guts to make an advance in person

I've never even bothered going to a strip club. I'd feel incredibly out of place at one. I only know that Zanzibar exists because of a Degrassi episode.

I found a full video of the Rock’s inaugural home game from 1999 against Buffalo. If anyone has 2-3 hours to kill sometime, check it out. I’m watching it in bed at the moment.

I think you are probably not meeting quality people on Tinder......but, I think it must cut through a lot of time and BS towards the same end as an old fashioned bar conquest.

Eric and I found ourselves at the Brass Rail when we were in town for a Wings game a few years ago.

The ladies are fine, but $11 for a 12 oz beer is what kept our stay short. I can see titties almost anywhere.

In my experience, the more quality people use Bumble, but it's harder to find a good quality "match" on there. I actually met a really nice attractive woman who's going for a PhD at Cornell on Tinder about a couple months ago, but that didn't work out since Ithaca is about 2 1/2 hours away and we're both too busy with our careers. That set the bar pretty high for future Tinderettes I meet going forward.

I was thrilled to find it. Periodically I'll just search something like "Toronto Rock lacrosse 1999" or some other year on YouTube and see if I find a random full game, and was thrilled to find one I hadn't seen yet. I was even more excited when I discovered it's the Rock's first ever home game.

Side note: searching "Toronto Rock" on YouTube often brings up pages and pages of videos from rock concerts in Toronto, hence why it's important to include "lacrosse" in the search.

I am making this the official Toronto Rock vintage full game thread. So, here's what I have thus far:

1998: Ontario Raiders vs. Philadelphia Wings

February 19, 1999: Philadelphia Wings at Toronto Rock

February 27, 1999: Toronto Rock at Philadelphia Wings

1999 NLL Championship Game: Rochester Knighthawks at Toronto Rock

2000 NLL Championship Game: Rochester Knighthawks at Toronto Rock
2001 NLL Championship Game: Philadelphia Wings at Toronto Rock
February 8, 2004: Philadelphia Wings at Toronto Rock
And the Toronto Rock with Rick Mercer from 2007, just cause.

Hopefully one day the 2002 NLL Championship Game will surface on YouTube, as well as the 2003 and 2005 ones. I think 2003 was/is in the NLL's archive on the (whatever they called their season pass thingy) website.

Be warned though, I think the Wings win most of the games in the videos posted above since Dallas Eliuk is the one who posted them on his YouTube channel.

Even though it only lasted a year, I thought it was a good move for the Rock having there post game at Real Sports.

Definitely is better than having them 5 kilometers away at a random Jack Astor’s.

Personally, the AmericanRockFan pre and post game meet and greets will always be at the Loose Moose.

This thread might become the Rock forum’s version of Rescheduled Game......

so this thread got me wondering just what is left for Toronto "ballet". Downtown core only has four such establishments, one aimed at gay men.

the map of the city proper, not counting the industrial-commercial parks in the inner suburbs only shows one more than the four mentioned above.

i think internet porn and tinder have had a very pronounced effect on this once "proud" industry. In the 90s, it was booming so much that the department of immigration was actually fast-tracking work visas for Eastern European entertainers
