After it failed miserably last time, do you see Paul Day trying it again seeing how well it’s worked in Toronto? I’m thinking guys like Matt Rambo maybe getting a shot. Thoughts?

    The rock have 2 Americans
    Ones elite
    Ones average
The wings were fielding players from men’s leagues

I don’t see the focus going that way ever again
If the black wolves can field a team with 20 Canadians playing in the middle of no where
There’s no reason the wings can’t do the same with a major international airport 5 miles from the Wells Fargo center

This time they have enough money to fly in some role players if they cannot find local role players that are good enough.

This said, they might have to overpay on salary and bonus for veteran fly-ins, so, at a certain point, they creep up against the operating cap.

And, it's not an American "experiment", these were scouted guys, Schreiber was already a star in men's pro (MLL).

They were brought to 2016-2017 camp with the thought that they had a chance of making the team.

Schreiber is pretty well uncontested as the best Rock forward this year. McArdle is a role player, but, he's athletic and with a bit of grit, so, in another year or two, he might be better than the Canadian they could change him out for.

So, each team can find a couple legit NLLers.

    Doubt you can find 12.

Last time I looked, the Rock are last in the East. So there's that for Day to think about.

Well, it's not like Tom Schreiber and Kieran McArdle are the reason the Rock are 7-9 at the moment.... Unless you blame it on Schreiber's injury :p

I'll say that Kieran McArdle is at least as responsible as most of the other attackers.....except that, as a second year Yank project, guys like Hellyer, Jones and Hickey should be counted on for more.

The problem with the offence this week was that Rose didn't make any sick feeds, and the defence corps did not find a way to score the 7 that are needed.

Too bad the Rock didn't sign Rabil to replace Gamble.

I think you could get Rabil for one of those conditional 7th round draft choices that sometimes pop up. o_O

You think Paul Rabil's trade value is on par with Reid Acton's? :p

I'm a little bummed that Rabil never made a cameo with the Rock, but I'd be lying if I said I expected him to actually play for them at some point.

I was curious to see if the Rock could use him within his abilities......but, they have righties, Challen Rogers and Sheldon Burns, who do the same job better than Rabil could and dont need fly in for home games.....

as far as righty attack, as bad as the Rock was in that department, last time I saw Rabil playing box, he spent most shifts just getting in Schreiber's way. He does not have a head for this, nor seemingly a willingness to learn/adapt.

Really, I just wanted to see Rabil play for the Rock so it'd boost attendance numbers.

In all seriousness, I'm not incredibly familiar with his indoor talents since I didn't watch a lot of non-Rock NLL while he was in the league, but I would've liked to at least see him in training camp with the team so I could've heard from my trusted sources how he looked.

Well he took a shot in his only wings playoff game down 1 with 1 minute left 8 seconds into the shot clock
That sums up his indoor prowless

Rabil has an NLL title while playing for the Stealth so he must have done something right but that was 2010. I remember seeing him play the Bandits and was impressed by how much speed he had.....but again, that was at least 8 years ago and he's 33 now.

The Stealth won their title in 2010.....the stats show he wasn't even the 5th best scorer on that team -- http://nll_stats.wttstats.pointstreak.com/teamplayerstats.html?teamid=529730&seasonid=4905
