Interesting, the Bandits let Patten walk. He was decent for us, the team probably does not see him fitting in, especially with the impending defender(s) coming on board at the draft.

Buchan is having a great summer in Peterborough and is playing behind a really good defense, too. I would have like to see the Bandits bring him into camp but seeing as Paul Day is GM in Peterborough and Philly, it's no surprise that Philly landed him. Buchan will definitely push Diruscio for the starting job.

FWIW, Buque had a great summer last year out West with similar numbers to Buchan but then Buque crapped the bed many times last year in the NLL. No guarantees Buchan won't do the same but he's definitely worth a look for Philly.

he has good numbers, but then that defense was as poor as a bandit defense has ever been.

    Who are these ******* guys?

At least they immediately addressed the defense, since they skipped it in the draft.

"Who are these guys" will be the mantra for the first 5 home games.

yeah, it's going to be a hard season to follow, as most fans haven't paid much attention to the NLL since the team moved.
But it's good for the players, let's see who stands out and makes a name for himself, on and off the field.

And in all that, the names and their past wont matter to many of the fans, and all of the new ones. Show us now will be all that matters.

In Peterborough, Doug Buchan is starting AHEAD of both Matt Vinc and Evan Kirk and has a real shot at MSL MVP. He's surprised everybody.

As a unit they certainly had their issues. With that said there were good individual performances from time to time. They (for whatever) reason did not gel well together last year. Part of that was was youth and inexperience. Some of it was injuries on the back end creating a rotating cast on defense.

With the exception of Hickey, those guys should have gotten nothing more than 2 years max. Maybe it's meant to scare off future expansion teams from picking guys?

The overall roster looks like a mix of field guys and box guys. At least they went with Canadian box goalies and not field goalies who they hope can convert to box.
