I do miss seeing this. If Nick Rose and Damon Edwards could find a way to replicate this, that'd be swell.

Rose has a good stick, but, there are fewer chances per game now that you cannot pass to the goalie in the crease.

I miss that rule. I wonder if Toll would have the success he had with the faster and more athletic transition/D guys we see in today's game. And if that rule was still in place, would that have helped a guy like Steenhuis in his prime add some goals to his numbers.

I think he's a first line defender even today.

In his prime, he was as quick as most of them. His game also didn't require the size and power, his value was his hands and instincts - picking off passes, stealing loose balls, and, knowing when to tear up floor before his teammates actually had possession. While you never would have considered him a shutdown defender to put on a Grant, Gait, or Tavares, he was certainly good enough to check the third best lefty on any team in the league.

He really might've been ahead of the curve when it came to the transition game. In fact, I'd have no problem with them renaming that award the Steve Toll Transition Award one day.

Totally agree. Except then we'd need to name awards for goalie and defender and ....

    Eliuk-Watson Award for the goalie.
Unsure who to name the defender award after.
    Gait-Tavares Award for league MVP.

I'm guessing as a Stealth fan the season starting earlier wasn't good in hindsight, as it's dragged out the misery?

I was optimistic at the beginning of the season but now I'm like Joel and the Bots screaming "END! END!" at the screen at this point.

LOOKS LIKE THE SAME THING IN ROCHESTER AGAIN TONIGHT.... IF NO ONE GOES TO THE GAME, WILL THEY EVEN PLAY?? CAN THE TWO TEAMS JUST SECRETLY PLAY ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS TO DETERMINE WHO WINS, THEN THE MEDIA (wait....does Rochester still have media???) CAN REPORT THAT ONE TEAM BEAT THE OTHER TEAM 15-11 AND MAKE UP A BUNCH OF FAKE STATS!

    LET'S GO WINGS!

Haven't seen the Knighthawks really advertising this game anywhere, not sure how people are supposed to go if they don't even know there is a game. I'm sure people will blame this on the media not covering the team, but at the end of the day, the front office needs to get people to the game one way or the other. I hope there is a big walkup at game time and we get a decent crowd, but it doesn't look good right now.

I opted not to even go. It was tempting but I decided to just save my money and stay at home for once.

I'll take that money and spend it on a minor league baseball game this weekend instead.

I'm down with calling it the Pat Coyle Award. I'm sure the dozen people that remember his MILL incident will object, but I think the NLL swept that incident under the rug :p
