he wasn't my first pick to run the team. expansion draft and i thought that he did well except for taking rambo before a goalie. entry draft and we all said cloutier. i think i can be sold on baptiste that high because the other picks leave me ho-hum. and since then...what? two weeks gone and i see teams signing guys and we just sit back.

My hot take is that Brodie can still play, just not at the level he was at in his prime.

Maybe Brodie doesn't want to live in San Diego at his age and place in life?

Brodie was a reasonably important part of a solid D crew last year. Still a bit of gas in the tank, but, maybe not if he is going to cost big for travel or tie up a tonne of bonus money

He was past his prime when Steenhuis dominated him the whole 4th quarter of the 2008 Championship game
